Tadano AS-58CJ
The Tadano AS-58CJ is an aerial work platform designed for high-reach applications on uneven or unprepared terrain. The machine has a ground pressure rating of 6.9 pounds per square inch and gradeability of up to 57 %, allowing it to operate in conditions where wheeled machines may be limited. The oscillating roller crawler tracks increase machine terrainability for under-bridge inspection and maintenance, mining and shipyard sites and especially in mud, snow and ice. Tadano’ s crawler boom lineup, including the AS-58CJ, is designed for work in areas where wheeled aerial work platforms may be less suitable.
The AS-58CJ offers extended reach capabilities with a maximum platform height of 57.8 feet and an outreach of 40.2 feet. It is ideal for work involving low ground pressure and boasts features such as boom wiper seals & cylinder bellows, smooth proportional controls and an internal cable track for cable and hydraulic hose protection, significantly decreasing the potential for damage and repairs.
The machine’ s crawler track system, equipped with gray non-marking pads, allows operation on both unprepared surfaces and paved areas. The three-speed travel range of 0.62 to 2.1 miles per hour supports movement around varied jobsites. Power comes from a Kubota D1305 engine, while the 35.1-gallon fuel tank capacity supports extended operation times. The AS-58CJ maintains relatively compact transport dimensions of 26.23 by 7.38 by 8.14 feet with an operating weight of 21,385 pounds, providing a transportable and flexible option for rental companies that operate across a wide range of jobsite applications.

Altec AA / AN + Series
Altec’ s AA / AN + Series is equipped with updated hydraulics and controls, a standard lanyard detection system and a lower control pendant. The units also include platform-to-ground access in the non-overcenter position for improved platform access in rescue situations.
In addition to safety features, these units also feature operational enhancements designed to increase productivity. A lower control pendant reduces the risks of injury by improving access to the controls and work visibility. The platform features fully meterable interlocking controls that can be operated one-handed. Each control station— at the ground controls, turntable and platform— is equipped with visual E-Stop indication that illuminates a red light anytime an E-Stop on the machine is pressed. Jib architecture has been updated to improve system responsiveness and to reduce the distance from the operator to the winch line.
Technology upgrades and design enhancements improve the serviceability of these units, making it easier to prevent downtime and mitigate any interruptions. Simplified unit plumbing reduces leak points by more than 50 %. Additionally, through Altec Insights, users receive simple and actionable information designed to help answer essential questions, enhance jobsite safety and reduce downtime. Users can remotely view unit diagnostic trouble codes and vehicle status within Altec Connect.
Altec’ s new patented EZ-Egress platform is also available on several Altec aerial models, including the AA / AN + series units. The first insulating platform system with a walk-thru door for aerial devices, EZ-Egress creates safer jobsites and allows linemen to easily access and egress the platform. The EZ-Egress platform system provides dielectric protection, like a conventional platform with a liner, but allows the operator to enter and exit the platform through a door. It features a door retention bar and a primary latch. The redundant mechanisms secure the door during unit operation.
