Dr. Barnett, who holds a master’ s degree in mechanical engineering and a PhD in Knowledge Management, brings over 20 years of international experience in the heavy machinery sector. His expertise spans engineering, new product introduction, product testing and development and product life cycle management. He also has a strong track record in sector and customer mapping, along with extensive experience in team building and mentoring for successful project delivery.
Oshkosh Corporation, parent company of JLG Industries, has announced the appointment of Matthew Field
Field as chief financial
officer( CFO). Field will succeed Michael Pack, who earlier this year transitioned to the role of president of Oshkosh’ s Vocational segment. With more than 20 years of experience in financial leadership roles across the automotive and aerospace sectors, Field brings a proven track record of strategic financial management. Previously he served as CFO of Joby Aviation, where he played a key role in the company’ s 2021 public listing and its emergence as a leader in electric vertical takeoff and landing technology. Field has held various leadership positions in the past, including a two-decade tenure at Ford Motor Company, including CFO of Ford North America, overseeing approximately $ 100 billion in annual revenue.
Manufacturers
Palazzani Industrie recently hosted a training day for fifth-year engineering students from the University of Brescia’ s“ Design of Operating Machines” course. The event provided hands-on experience in the design and manufacturing of operating machinery. Paola Palazzani, the company president, introduced the students to Palazzani’ s history, growth and dedication to safety, innovation and sustainability. CEO Francesco Zola led a tour of the company’ s production process.
A key part of the visit included an interactive session with Palazzani’ s technical team, who discussed the design and development of the spider lift, focusing on safety and compliance with international standards. The event concluded with a live demonstration of the XTJ 52 + Bi-energy spider lift.
Rental
PALFINGER has partnered with AP Fleet Management to launch a new bucket truck rental program in the United States. This collaboration aims to address the increasing demand for flexible and cost-effective equipment access by offering businesses on-demand rental options for high-quality bucket trucks tailored to their project needs and budgets. The rental program is designed to support diverse business needs, including short-term or seasonal projects, companies avoiding the upfront costs of ownership and organizations with limited budgets.
Haulotte and Equans France have begun testing a hydrogen-powered scissor lift to help decarbonize construction sites. The trial features Haulotte’ s HS18 E PRO scissor lift, equipped with a hydrogen fuel cell range extender that recharges the lift’ s batteries using hydrogen. This technology is ideal for remote sites without electrical infrastructure and significantly reduces emissions and noise, emitting only water vapor, creating a more comfortable environment for operators and workers. The collaboration with Bouygues Construction Matériel takes place at a specialized worksite with a hydrogen refill station. This project is part of a broader strategy to assess the technical and economic feasibility of hydrogen-powered construction equipment. Early results have been promising, with users praising the lift’ s performance and fast refueling capabilities, which ensure high productivity with minimal downtime.

Magni Telescopic Handlers has partnered with Carolina Cat, a well-established equipment supplier based in North Carolina. This collaboration marks a significant expansion of Magni’ s dealer network, with Carolina Cat now offering Magni’ s full line of advanced telehandlers for rental across its nine locations. Carolina Cat will provide access to Magni’ s renowned RTH rotating, HTH heavy lift and TH fixed boom telehandlers.
